Description

Enjoy a mystical two-night stay at Tortuguero National Park located in the North Caribbean side of Costa Rica. This is one of Costa Rica's most popular ecotourism destinations. Discover its Network of canals, lagoons and dense rainforests. Abundant wildlife inhabits Tortuguero, including 57 species of amphibians, 111 species of reptiles, and 60 species of mammals.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Tortuguero National Park: Tortuguero is the best place in Costa Rica to encounter wildlife; because of its remote location and difficult access this pristine Rainforest remains virtually untouched and it is home to many animals like sloths, monkeys, crocodiles, toucans, trogons, water birds, colourful frogs and butterflies. This National Park is also the prime nesting site for the green and leatherback sea turtles from June to October.

Itinerary

SAN JOSE – TORTUGUERO

Early departure from your hotel in San Jose to Tortuguero in a shared transfer (pick-up around 6:00 am). You will enjoy breakfast on the way and then, continue to the dock to board the boat that will take you to the lodge where you will immerse yourself in a perfectly quiet, laid back and tranquil stay. After lunch at the lodge, meet your guide for an expedition through the Tortuguero Canals, a must activity while you are in Costa Rica. Explore the lagoons and hidden canals; as you go deeper into the forest the canals become smaller and the surrounding wildlife gets closer. Savour dinner at the lodge in the evening.

Overnight in Tortuguero.

TORTUGUERO

After a rich breakfast, be ready to enjoy a guided nature walk through the private tropical trails of the lodge. Your guide will search for local species such as reptiles, birds and some mammals; monkeys are abundant in this region. Learn more about the dense vegetation while you fall in love with the wild environment. Enjoy lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, visit the enchanting village of Tortuguero; the town is a small population of around 500, no cars, and is located on a relatively narrow spit of land between the beach and a canal. Take a closer encounter with the Caribbean culture; discover its people and lifestyle walking through this colourful town. Savour dinner at the lodge in the evening.
