This trip not only includes Plymouth but many other historical sites as we travel South from Boston to Plymouth. We will make a stop in the "City of Presidents" Quincy to view the birthplaces of two former U.S. Presidents, John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams. We'll also pass by Peacefield (the Adams Mansion acquired by John Adams in 1787). You will then make your way through the City of Weymouth (birthplace to former First Lady Abigail Adams). There is also quintessential New England coastline to view as we travel past the Mansions in the beautiful town of Cohasset and make our way to the coastal town of Scituate. Once in Scituate, you will stop and view the Scituate Lighthouse and hear the amazing story of the "American Army of Two". We will also travel through the historical coastal towns of Marshfield and Duxbury while en route to Plymouth.
Upon arrival in Plymouth you will have time to view Plymouth Rock and enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants along Plymouth Harbor. Then it will be time for your true Plymouth experience to begin. It will commence with a visit to the Mayflower II. You will actually board the replica of the 17th century ship that the English Puritans (Pilgrims) arrived to Plymouth aboard in 1620. Then you will travel to the famous Plimoth Plantation Living Museum. What was life like in the early 1600's for the Pilgrims and American Indians? You will know after your visit to the historical town of Plymouth. There is so much to see in this wonderful area of Massachusetts called the South Shore.
