Already in Skopje, but you want to see more! We recommend this full day tour to Ohrid and Ohrid lake – the most famous tourist destination in Macedonia.

You will start in a morning with private transfer from Skopje to Ohrid.
Passing the western part of Macedonia, in less than 3 hours drive and one coffee stop, you will arrive in Ohrid.

Because of the religious importance and its numerous churches and monasteries, Ohrid is also famous under the name “Macedonian Jerusalem”. According the history facts, there used to be 365 churches – a church for each day!
In 12th century, the city was also the seat of Archbishop of Ohrid.
Since 1979 the city and the lake of Ohrid are under protection of UNESCO.

Ohrid fortress of Tsar Samoil

It is located on the highest peak of Ohrid hill, overlooking the lake and the city.

According to recent excavations by Macedonian archaeologists, it was contended that this fortress was built on the place of an earlier fortification, dated to the 4th century BC, which was probably built by King Philip II. Admission fee included in the price.

Church of Saints Clement and Panteleimon

Located at so called "Plaosnik" area, it is one of the most important churches in Ohrid.

Rebuilt in 2002 on the foundations of the original church from 9th century, built by one of the greatest Macedonian saints, St. Clement who dedicated the church to St. Panteleimon. Admission fee included in the price.

St. John church - Kaneo

One of the landmarks of Ohrid

Saint John the Theologian, Kaneo or simply Saint John at Kaneo is a Macedonian Orthodox church situated on the cliff over Kaneo Beach overlooking Lake Ohrid. The church is dedicated to John of Patmos, the writer of Revelation, who has been by some considered to be the same person as John the Apostole. The construction date of the church remains unknown but documents detailing the church property suggest that it was built before the year 1447.

It is one of the most important Byzantine churches in Macedonia and the biggest church in Ohrid. The current church was built on the foundations of a metropolitan cathedral demolished in the first decade of the 6th century. It was basically rebuilt in the last decade of the 10th century as a patriarchal cathedral in the form of a dome basilica. Admission fee included in the price.

St. Naum monastery

The pearl of Ohrid lake located on the south banks of the lake.

After 40 min drive along the lake, passing several tourist villages, we will enter Galichica National park. The monastery is situated 29km south of Ohrid, in extraordinary nature and near the springs of Black Drim river. Admission fee included in the price.
