Nine Mile is a little town in the hills of the Parish of St Ann where Robert Nesta Marley, popularly called Bob Marley was born. Marley left Nine Mile at an early age for Kingston to pursue his music carer but from time to time he would return to his birth place to visit his mother, family and to just chill, meditate and write songs. Nine Mile is his final resting place after he died in 1981.
Upon arrival at Nine Miles, visitors purchase their tickets and make their way to meet the tour guide who begins the tour with an introduction and history of Nine Miles. A tour of Bob Marley's Mother house, a tour of a mini museum showcasing his Gold and Platinum records, awards and accolades, news paper clippings from all over the world is next. Then its time to listen to the band sing you some of Bob's popular songs while you sing along after which you head up to Mt. Zion to view the King of Reggae mausoleum, tour the one bedroom house he used to live in (still intact with his single bed) and even get a chance to lay your head on the rock which was his pillow where he wrote many songs. After the tour visitors can shop for souvenirs.
