Description

It truly is a biodiversity paradise.
The Forest covers over 28,000 contiguous acres, with peaks, escarpments, myriad steams and waterfalls, and lush green vegetation representating various forest types.

Post hurricane conditions have forced us to use other trails on the skirts of El Yunque Rainforest, until further notice. We have adapted our tour route into an Off the Beaten Path version in order to continue offering a similar experience. Please read complete description as the activity became more advanced and strenuous, may not be suitable for everyone.

On this guided tour, you will have the opportunity to:
• Hike and explore other zones of El Yunque Rainforest.
• Take a dip in a waterfall and natural pool (optional)
• We will be also river wading, rock scaling, have the opportunity to swing from a rope into the natural pool and enjoy from natural water slides.
• Hear our guide cover subjects such as natural history education, medicinal and toxic plant identification, geology, ecology, pre-Colombian history, the island's history and many other subjects including current conditions and facts post hurricane Maria.
• Spot native flora and fauna, many of which are not found anywhere else on the planet.

After the hike, we will stop for lunch at local restaurant (lunch not included in your ticket price) before heading back to San Juan.

Note: All tours leave from San Juan. To account for transportation, guests should allow up to 8 hours for the entire experience. We will spend about 4-4½ hours in the rainforest itself.
