Central Park: Self-Guided Audio Tour

Central Park is the world's most famous urban park and the first landscaped in U.S. history. The huge 843-acre park consists of different gardens, meadows, lakes, arches, and statues. Each season, it offers a wide range of outdoor activities from biking, hiking, ice-skating, or fishing to listening to a live concert or a performance.  

Your tour will start at the famous Dakota building on Central Park West, just a few minutes from John Lennon Memorial. It will continue around Sheep Meadow and the most famous bodies of water, such as the Pond, the Lake, or the Reservoir. You will walk through the unique Children's Zoo, under old arches, and over the rustic stone bridges, and find historical monuments with scenic views.  

Then you will get a chance to discover the hidden gems and best-kept secrets of Central Park, for example, Conservatory Garden, North Woods with a waterfall, or brand new statues of women in Literary Mall.  

Don't miss looking for different birds species and unique old trees in the Ramble section of the Park and Cherry Hill. Also, listen to great jazz musicians and climb the rocks in forested parts of the park.
