After Saona, Catalina Island is probably the most popular day trip excursion in Punta Cana. Catalina Island lies 1.5 miles from the southeastern shore of the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean Sea, and is formed by coral stone and surrounded by one of the most diverse ecosystems in the Caribbean Sea. It is classified as a national monument with a protected environment and little development and is also the Caribbean beach home port of the Costa cruise line.
There are several well-known caves and reefs in the area, as well as famous shipwrecks. You can view the wreck of 17th-century pirate Captain William Kidd at less than 20 feet below the surface. It is very popular among divers and snorkelers as there is a wall of coral that surrounds the island. If you are not into diving or snorkeling Saona is more recommended as offers better beaches; but if you are, then Catalina is the place to go.
We offer a full-day experience with 2 different packages: full-day snorkeling and full-day scuba diving. The best thing about this tour is that snorkelers and divers can experience 2 of the most beautiful underwater sites: The Wall and The Aquarium and they have their own private beach on Catalina. This is a good excursion for people who are looking for a relaxing and entertaining cruise and are into snorkeling or diving. It’s not a “party boat style” tour with loud music, dancing, and no-stop drinks.
We can proudly offer this excursion for the great price of 95USD for the snorkeling package and 135USD for the scuba diving package including round-trip transportation from all the main hotels in the Punta Cana area.
