The city of Braga, known as that of the Archbishops, has in its Cathedral its greatest ecclesiastical power. As such, the current See reflects the enrichment of the various interventions suffered over the years, applied by the different archbishops. Prior to Nationality, this 11th century building is the oldest cathedral in Portugal. This is due to the famous expression "Older than Braga's cathedral" to designate something very old.
